Fox Broadcasting (who currently owns KREF-AM 1400) owned the station until the late 90s when Citadel Broadcasting (then-Caribou Broadcasting) bought the station and combined it with Sports Talk 1340 (a time-brokered operation on Clear Channel's KEBC-AM 1340) on this frequency and then KNTL-FM 104.9.
